Experience That Counts

Seasoned real estate agent Mitch Palmer has navigated property market booms and busts, bringing years of experience and knowledge to Kollosche.
Experience That Counts

When it comes to selling property, experience counts.

For sales agent Mitch Palmer, that experience spans more than two decades during which he has piloted every conceivable market condition, from the doom and gloom of the GFC through to the heady boom times of the pandemic.

Now, Mitch has brought his tested skills, resilient mindset, and expert knowledge to Kollosche, where he delivers exceptional service to clients across the Gold Coast’s luxury waterfront property market.

SOLID FOUNDATIONS

Mitch’s real estate journey began as a 19-year-old in 2002, where he joined a national brand as a sales cadet. His early years were marked by a determination to master the fundamentals – nurturing, negotiating, and marketing strategies.

His drive and sharp focus quickly set him apart, leading to him swiftly working his way up the ranks.

“I found a real niche for product and industry knowledge and probably put more time and effort into learning the foundations of real estate than most,” Mitch says. “Refining that early on gave me an understanding of the market that cemented my career through what became some difficult times.”

Mitch was a sales agent when the GFC hit sending property markets plummeting, including on the Gold Coast. “They were tough times,” he says. “We had open house after open house with no inspections. You couldn’t give property away. Surviving required mental toughness and fortitude and the ability to reinvent strategies. You had to find fresh enthusiasm for properties in a market that, essentially, had the life sucked out of it.”

PERSPECTIVE

In the GFC aftermath and craving a change of pace, Mitch made the decision to move to Melbourne where his career flourished, culminating in him becoming a director of three real estate businesses.

Mitch says six years spent in the capital exposed him to a volume-driven market, where supply and demand dynamics played out on a great scale. It was also where he dabbled in the development market and found his stride as an award-winning auctioneer.

“Melbourne is the best auction market in the world for volume, competition, and energy. Calling auctions there refined my understanding of buyer psychology and strategy.”

HOMECOMING

Despite his success down south, lifestyle called Mitch and his family back to the Gold Coast where he resettled in Broadbeach Waters.

In partnership, Mitch opened the Ray White Mermaid Waters office before selling it to establish the larger business of Ray White Broadbeach Waters. During this time, Mitch also developed a leasing division, growing a rent roll from scratch and organically accumulating more than 300 properties under management within three years.

The portfolio reflected a premium positioning, which Kollosche acquired when Mitch joined the business.

BEYOND THE BOARDROOM

Mitch’s proven experience, which also includes owning, developing, renovating, and building homes, has given him a unique sense of empathy for the challenges and rewards facing today’s sellers and buyers.

“My life experience combined with my property expertise allows me to understand the challenges clients face and means I can guide them with great clarity to achieve the best outcome,” Mitch says.

“You can’t replicate the advantage gained from time spent in an industry. It is my strongest asset and is why clients choose to work with me – I have the experience to give them the best chance of success.”

A FRESH CHAPTER

For Mitch, the decision to join Kollosche was a natural next step in aligning his skillset with a brand that is synonymous with excellence in the luxury real estate space. Free from the demands of running a business, he is excited to dedicate his energy to his own career, client service, and sales.

“I’ve experienced every curveball this industry can throw. That means when people list with me, they can be confident they’re in the best hands in the market – someone who will deliver them a well-crafted, strategic campaign designed to gain them the best result.”
