Top Gold Coast Suburbs This Spring

The Gold Coast is about to brace for a bumper season, with the first weekend of spring already proving to be hot under the hammer.

Recent data from realestate.com.au revealed Queensland’s top suburbs with properties listed for auction. Tugun achieved the top spot with a 25 percent increase from last year. Burleigh Heads came in next with a 21 percent increase in properties listed for auction.

In another report from realestate.com.au, the suburbs which have risen in total growth in listings in the 12 months to July 2021 were: Gilston (51 percent), Burleigh Heads (38 percent), Surfers Paradise (37 percent), Mermaid Waters (33 percent), Tallebudgera Valley (25 percent), Tallebudgera (24 percent), Biggera Waters (20 percent) and Palm Beach (18 percent).

At Kollosche, our results reflect a similar pattern with impressive sales seen during the first weekend of spring.

With fierce competition from ten registered bidders, 10 Platypus Avenue, Sorrento sold for $200,000 over the reserve with a final result of $3,000,000 by Michael Kollosche and Jay Helprin.

Last weekend, a Brisbane family secured the purchase of 20 Kurrawa Avenue, Mermaid Waters. The 11 registered bidders battled towards a new street record of $2,305,000 achieved by Brad Coyne and his team. The property saw high demand during the three-week campaign with a total of 203 enquiries and 125 inspections, with 23 of those conducted via FaceTime.

With eight registered bidders, Troy Dowker sold the quaint beachside apartment at 6/6 Tomewin Street, Currumbin under the hammer on Sunday for $1,420,000, which set a new record for the building.

Attendance levels at auctions remain high, with locals, interstate and overseas buyers registering to bid in person or via FaceTime.

On average Kollosche’s auction clearance rates have been tracking above 87 percent since last year – by way of comparison, the Queensland auction clearance rate is currently 76 percent.
