Nick’s Picks – The 3 Best Restaurants in Surfers Paradise

With social distancing restrictions starting to ease and our city’s eateries once again able to throw open their doors to in-house dining, I thought it timely to share my top three best restaurants in Surfers Paradise. And when you’re finished reading (or drooling over the thought of this fine fare), make sure to get out and support our local food industry if you can!

Yamagen – QT Gold Coast

Boutique 5-star hotel, QT Gold Coast, is renowned for its personality plus and unique appeal. It’s no surprise then that it has brought traditional Japanese cuisine alive within a playful Tokyo-inspired setting. It’s also the first fine-dining modern Japanese restaurant in our local region and proudly boasts a long history of igniting its clientele’s senses.

With its statement interior style rivalled only by its flavoursome food, enjoy an izakaya dining experience bursting with vibrant refined flavours. Smoking signature kushiyaki, sushi and delicate market-fresh sashimi can be made to share, which will deliver an enticing evening of food and fun. With Omakase dining, choose your own food adventure. Or indulge in the country’s most extensive Japanese whisky collection and raise a glass to continued good times and health.

Run by acclaimed executive chef, Adam Lane, who has worked in iconic restaurants including Sydney’s Nobu and London’s Nahm, he successfully blends his mix of old school and innovative Asian flavours. The end result is a dynamic menu which has taken sophisticated Japanese dining to new, enticing heights.

Citrique – Marriott Surfers Paradise

There are buffets, and there are award-winning buffets – because until you’ve sampled the culinary delights of the Citrique Restaurant in the Marriott Surfers Paradise Resort & Spa, you won’t know there is a whole new level of sophisticated smorgasbord feasting which exists.

Diners delight in fresh seafood and flavoursome fair which is served in a light, bright and lively setting. It also comes highly regarded by locals and visitors alike, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

White Rhino

The White Rhino epitomises personality plus when dining out on the Gold Coast. With its enthralling décor, enticing cocktails, and exceptional food, it offers diners a vast array of cuisines to select from, sure to suit any taste.

The restaurant and bar interiors have a reputation as being as unique and inviting as the food and wine fare served. With its airy and open plan layout, dramatic rock wall with a waterfall bar and picturesque garden vibe, it’s almost enough to distract you from the mouth-watering array of cocktails the mixologists create. If you’re short on time, take advantage of the express menu at lunch but be sure to return again at night to dine in and get the full effect. Take your pick from the perfect combination of flavour and true Australian classics with a twist and wash it down with a fine wine, craft beer or bespoke cocktail.

No matter your choice, you’ll enjoy a superb evening in a stunning setting and be spoilt with a selection of food which will leave you salivating for more. If you’d like to know more about the Surfers Paradise property market or region, I’d be happy to share my knowledge (and a meal!) at one of the best restaurants in Surfers Paradise with you.
